10 - E-Learning courses 2012

Four
distance elearning courses hosted by the Dublin
Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland.
The 2012 series of e-learning courses from EuroSDR, began with a
pre-course seminar, hosted by DIT in Dublin, Ireland,
from 12th to 13th March 2012.
The
seminar will be followed by four two-week distance e-learning courses,
designed for knowledge transfer from the research to the production domain
(see details below).
EduServ courses are followed over the Internet from any location, thereby
allowing participants to update their knowledge with minimum disruption.
Courses require about thirty hours of online study and are completed over
a period of two weeks during Spring of each year.
Terrestrial
Reference Frames: application to the realisation of the European Reference
System (ETRS89)
Principal group: Ecole Nationale des Sciences Géographiques, Paris.

The practical application of this course is placed in the context of the
optimal implementation of the ETRS89 by the European National Mapping
and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs).

On completion of the course, the participants will be familiar with the
main tools (operational and research ones) to design, produce and process
3D data (geometry and semantics) in urban environments.

Open Standards & Open Source WebMapping

Teaching the principles of Open Standards WebMapping using Open Source tools.
Participants will learn the principles and theoretical background on interoperability, geo-webservices and Open Geo-Standards, and will apply them by setting up WMS and WFS services using MapServer, and by building a web-based client using OpenLayers.

performance of Digital Photogrammetric Cameras and Laser Scanners
