This second workshop continued the momentum generated at a first workshop in Dublin in March 2010 (proceedings on this site) and was focussed along three lines:

  • 3D Landscape Models
  • 3D City Models
  • 3D Data Structures/3D Databases/3D Standards

With the evolution of technologies for three-dimensional data acquisition, data handling and data representation, the future for three-dimensional geodata has already begun.

PDF files of all presentations and discussions are available by following the 'Programme' link on the left.

Presentations were delivered on:
State-of-the Art of Collecting 3D Rural Landscape Models
ISPRS Terrestrial Laser Scanning Database
3D Point Cloud Refinements
From 2D to 3D Spatial Data Infrastructures – A Neutral Approach
Very Advanced 3D Landscape Models
Reviewing the Evolution from 2D to 3D Spatial Data Modeling
The Potential of the Current Oracle Spatial Data Bases for 3D Topographic Data Integration
Establishing a reference model for 3D geo-information in the Netherlands
3D Data Modelling at ESRI

Focussed Discussions on:
3D Point Cloud Management
3D Visualisation of National Landscape Models
Future 3D Data Management in National Mapping Agencies
