Joint EuroSDR and EuroGeographics Workshop: Geometadata Production and Usage

13 February 2025

The joint EuroSDR – EuroGeographics Workshop on the production and usage of Geometadata took place on February 7 2025, at IGN in Saint Mandé, Paris. This event brought together 43 participants from 18 countries across Europe, from National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs) or geological survey, research institutions, and industry.  The aim of the workshop was to gain insight on how to better use and collect geo-metadata to manage the quality of geodata, to support reusability and better inform decisions with data.

Over the course of the event, presentations covered the latest technologies and challenges in catalogues of geographical data, as well as presentations on integrating Artificial Intelligence with geometadata. Participants acknowledged the mutual benefits of such exchanges supported by EuroSDR and EuroGeographics, all particularly to gather specialists from the GI domain and the more general metadata domain.

Presentations from the workshop will be made available here.

Thank you to all the participants and the workshop organisers.
